From pixel Mario to 3D Assassin’s Creed, game graphics has certainly come a long way.

If you were born during the era of Family computer game consoles then you would surely be familiar with Mario and Luigi, Bomberman, Lode Runner, and etc. These are all 2D games that have simple mechanics and feature pixel graphics.

Fast forward a couple years later and the graphics of games improve. You have the Sega, Playstation, Xbox, and many other game consoles.

Fast forward to today where we have Xbox Kinect, Wii, Playstation 3. All these games feature state of the art graphics in 3D and they are simply phenomenal.

If game graphics could come this far, how much farther can it become in the coming years!? Suffice it to say that my excitement cannot be contained!

Facebook games such as Farmville, Pet Society, and etc. are really trending across all ages. Older people particularly are very much addicted to Farmville. Why these games became great hits is something that I can only theorize about. But there’s no denying that the epidemic continues to today.

The games is fairly simple and it follows the normal trend most hit famous games today have. You do something in the game, you wait for a couple of minutes or hours, you go back to reap what you sow, then you repeat the process.

In retrospect, the simplicity of the game technicality is not something that can get you addicted to playing. But it has.

This game is not new. Recently though I’ve discovered that you can play angry birds on google chrome! All you have to do is visit chrome.angrybirds.com!

Ever since I started playing this game on my iPod, I was hooked. The game is fairly simple but addictive. I personally find the characters of the game and the story of the game in itself hilarious. Which adds character to the game and of course, an interesting x-factor.

There have been releases of the game in different versions for PC, MAC, and iPod. I’m not sure if the game is already available on the Android platform but for sure it will be.

Personally I’m not such a big gamer myself but I do enjoy playing an occasional game or 2.

The games that I enjoy playing best is Resident Evil on play station 1 and 2. Apart from the games being in 3D and the great concept of the game which I find thrilling, there’s just something about zombies that makes me enjoy hunting them down and ending them permanently on the game.

Of course there are a lot of other games that feature the same kind of game concept; hunt and kill other humans as featured in the war game Call of Duty. Most frown upon the violence that these games show and may inspire from the gamers. Though personally, from a biased perspective, there’s really nothing wrong with playing these games as long as you know not to emulate them in real life.

I love the rain when it’s light and manageable. I especially like rain if I am at home and only watching the water shower down from the sky through a glass window. The saddest form of rain is when it comes down hard and in copious and unmanageable amounts. This is where floods of historic proportions happen and lives are lost as the world mourn in one to grieve.

Here in the Philippines alone, we have witnessed many calamities that wrought our nation in the form of rain. The worst of course was from Ondoy. Many lives were lost then and many had to suffer. Like most rains that begin to pour, the end of the showering is always unpredictable.

It’s sad to know that the reason why an internet limit has been posed in the Philippines is because we have been branded as “pirates”. With the economic situation of the country, there’s no denying that piracy is a very common practice. And it’s sad to note that the fact is, regardless of economic situation, everyone participates in it.

I don’t pretend to know why this is the case but I dare say that I envy other countries. The internet is one of the best things ever invented and we don’t get to experience it or to explore every nook and cranny of it because we have been literally restrained to do so.

Where other countries enjoy a very high internet speed limit, we are stuck with making the most of what we have. Will the situation ever change? I certainly hope for the best.

This game console is no longer new. In fact, it made it’s debut last year. Still, this piece of technology continues to amaze me and I think that it took the level of gaming to a whole new dimension. Playing without the need of a controller? Now that is just awesome.

All game consoles always had the need for a controller as a means to interact with the game. What’s really cool about having removed that bridge is now, you can directly interact with the game and it would feel completely natural! You don’t have to be frustrated if the character doesn’t move the way you want it to because the character imitates your movement!

If this is what has become of gaming today, what better improvement could be had in the near future? I couldn’t wait!

The skill of programming is becoming one of the most sought out skill nowadays. Everything that we know is being translated into computer technology and many are now shifting to this area of work. A lot of people are now learning the art of programming as it is fast becoming an “in demand” skill. Could it be the new “Nurse” frenzy phenomenon?

Not long ago, the skill of “nursing” was said to be in demand. A lot of Filipino high school graduates then took up this particular college course. But after a few years of being “in demand” and hundreds upon thousands taking this course, suddenly there’s an outbreak of overflowing nurses and a growth in the number of unemployed.

Could the same happen for programmers? Well, we’re going to find out soon enough.
